Animal-Plant Interactions

Animals and plants interact in a diverse array of ways. I am highly interested in the ecology and evolution of mutualistic (e.g., seed dispersal and pollination) and non-mutualistic interactions (e.g., non-trophic and trophic antagonisms). As a continuum of responses is expected depending on intrinsic variables of each interacting partner and the environment, I am curious to discover and understand the strategies evolved by animals and plants to ensure benefits from their interactions. Foremost, in a rapidly changing world,  investigating the extent, diversity, and plasticity of these links among species is crucial to comprehend the important role of every organism in maintaining ecosystem functioning.
