By definition, ecomorphology or ecological morphology investigates the relationship between the ecology of the species and their morphological adaptations. So, by linking morphology with the concept of ecological niche, this field of research use measurements of performance, behavioral observations (e.g., feeding behavior), and the fitness outcomes of these relationships to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms leading to adaptation and diversification.
I am particularly interested in how morphological variations and behavioral plasticity influence dietary diversity, feeding performance and fitness on vertebrates, specially on small mammals.
